The 8-Box Dealer's Cycle

Eight positions, repeating at every scale of the chart. Learn the shape once, and you'll start seeing it everywhere — from a single 1H box to the full Level 3 cycle. Start with Box 1, or jump straight to the pivot at 4→5.

Intro to the Series

I wasn't looking for a new system. I already had one — TDI, the Steve Mauro framework, years of screen time on EURUSD. I wasn't a beginner trying to find a pattern to believe in. I was someone who'd already put in the hours, and I still felt like I was reacting to the chart more than reading it.

So I started doing something a little obsessive: boxing everything. Every leg, every swing, every little pause in price — I put a box around it and looked at it next to the last one. Not because I had a theory yet. Because I wanted to see it with my own eyes instead of trusting my memory of it.

What I started noticing

The boxes weren't random. The same shape kept showing up — a quiet box, then a break, then a grind, then a sharp spike that stalled, then a hard reversal, then a second push, then another quiet stretch, then settle. Eight of them. Every single time, in that order, whether I was looking at a 1-hour chart or zooming out to something much bigger.

What I started noticing

The part that actually stopped me: it wasn't just repeating — it was repeating at every scale. The same eight-box shape I was seeing inside a single move was also the shape of the bigger move that move belonged to. And the bigger move after that. It wasn't a pattern on the chart. It was the chart's actual structure, showing up fractally, everywhere I looked once I knew what to look for.

I'm not going to pretend I sat down and reasoned my way to a fractal market model on a whiteboard. I found it the way you find most things that end up mattering — by doing the tedious, unglamorous version of the work (boxing every leg, by hand, over and over) until the pattern got loud enough that I couldn't keep ignoring it. Then I sat with it, tested what I thought I was seeing against chart after chart, and built language for it so I could actually teach it instead of just privately trusting my gut.

What this series actually is

Eight positions. One repeating shape. A pivot in the middle of it that matters more than the rest. That's the whole system, and I'd rather hand it to you cleanly than make it sound more mysterious than it is.

You're going to see the same shape I saw — the base, the break, the grind, the spike-and-stall, the flip, the second leg, the stall, the settle — box by box, with what to actually watch for in each one. Not theory. What I look at, in real time, to know where I am in the cycle before it's obvious.

A Note on the Boxing Itself

I want to be straight with you about something before you start counting boxes on your own charts: the numbering isn't perfectly settled, and I don't think it ever fully will be. The fractal nature of this pattern is exactly what makes it powerful — the same shape repeating at every scale — but that same fractal quality is what makes the boxing a little slippery at the edges. Sometimes what I'd call a 1 could reasonably be argued as a 2. The lines don't always draw themselves as cleanly as the finished graphics make it look.

Here's where I actually stand on it: this is the clearest, most repeatable version I've been able to land on, out of a lot of versions that didn't hold up. It's the one I trust enough to teach. But I'm not going to pretend it's finished just because I drew clean boxes around it for this guide. If you look at a chart and count it differently than I would, or you think there's a cleaner way to draw the lines, I genuinely want to hear it. Message me directly. This is a living system, not a monument — it gets better the more people look at it critically instead of just nodding along.

What it means to the rest of the pattern

It creates the initial high and low. Both on it's own 1-8 and then entire box 1 will set the i H&L for the larger cycle.

How to trade it

The move is not in box 1 of 1, (red.) It's in box 7 (darlk blue) of box 1. Take it for a long, for the start of the larger cycle. Hold position for boxes 2 through 4.

The takeaway

You're not going to trade Box 1. That's not what it's for. What it's for is orientation — it's the box that tells you "we're at the start of something, pay attention to what comes next." Learn to recognize this one, because the alternative is finding out you were in Box 4 only after you've already missed Box 2.

The market doesn't skip its warmup. Neither should you.
